Dissertation New paths in urban research?
In my dissertation on Gowanus, New York City, I mainly address the question of whether research can avoid reproducing labels, stereotypes and clichés by moving away from worn-out and misused terms such as “disadvantaged neighborhoods” or “social mixing” and developing new concepts from intersectional perspectives.

Harlem, NYC Gentrification vs. welfare-state structures?
In my study on Harlem, NYC, I traced the discourse around “disadvantaged neighborhoods,” the ongoing dismantling of social housing and strategies of urban upgrading.
